Saved by the Crossfader with DJ J Mo
Where Soul Meets Spirit and Every Mix Has Meaning
Today on BLAZIN 420, we sit down with one of the most inspiring new voices in the DJ world — the soulful, skilled, and spiritually grounded DJ J Mo, host of the increasingly beloved Saved by the Crossfader.
Her blend of Gospel, R&B, oldies, and feel-good classics has turned her show into a sanctuary of sound — a place where music heals, lifts, and connects listeners on a deeper level.
She’s not just mixing music…
She’s mixing spirit, memory, rhythm, and purpose.
Let’s step into her world.
THE INTERVIEW BEGINS
BLAZIN 420:
J Mo, welcome to BLAZIN 420. Your show Saved by the Crossfader has already built a strong following. What does the show represent to you personally?
DJ J MO:
Saved by the Crossfader is my heart in radio form. It represents my journey, my faith, my love for music, and my desire to lift people up.
Every mix is a moment — a reminder that no matter what you’re going through, you can find comfort, strength, and joy in the melodies that shaped your life.
My goal is to touch souls, not just playlists.
BLAZIN 420:
Your mixes weave together Gospel, R&B, oldies, and more. How do you balance such a unique blend of genres?
DJ J MO:
I think of music as one big conversation. Gospel speaks to the spirit, R&B speaks to the heart, oldies speak to the memories — and when you mix them right, they speak to each other.
I don’t chase trends; I chase connection. If a song brings healing, nostalgia, or joy, it belongs in the mix.
My transitions are intentional because I want people to feel the meaning behind each shift.
BLAZIN 420:
You’re relatively new to the DJ scene, but listeners swear your mixes feel like they’re crafted by a veteran. Where does that instinct come from?
DJ J MO:
Music has always been my first language. I taught myself guitar, I play multiple instruments, and I grew up listening to different genres.
That foundation trained my ear — it’s why I hear harmonies, rhythms, and transitions before I even touch the turntables.
So even though I’m newer behind the decks, music has been in me forever.
BLAZIN 420:
Your show brings a sense of calm, joy, and spiritual reflection that’s rare in modern radio. Was that intentional from the start?
DJ J MO:
Absolutely. The world is loud — people need a place to breathe.
Saved by the Crossfader is my way of saying: “Here’s peace, here’s love, here’s something to carry you through.”
I want each listener to walk away with something — a memory, a smile, a message, or just a better mood.
BLAZIN 420:
While many DJs focus on hype, you focus on healing. What inspired you to create a show with this kind of emotional depth?
DJ J MO:
Because music saved me, too.
There were seasons when a song lifted me out of something heavy or brought me back to myself.
So I want to pay that forward.
Every mix is a reminder that God works in mysterious ways — sometimes through a message, sometimes through a melody.
BLAZIN 420:
What makes Saved by the Crossfader on BLAZIN 420 different from anything else on the airwaves?
DJ J MO:
It’s not just a show — it’s a feeling.
Most radio shows want to entertain you. I want to uplift you.
My mixes don’t just transition — they transform. They tell a story, they give comfort, they shift the atmosphere.
And BLAZIN 420 gives me the freedom to create something meaningful and unique.
BLAZIN 420:
What can listeners expect next from DJ J Mo?
DJ J MO:
More journeys, more emotions, more moments that hit home.
I’m working on expanding my sound, doing special themed episodes, and collaborating with other artists and DJs.
And of course — bigger inspirations and even smoother crossfades.
I’m just getting started.
FINAL WORDS FROM DJ J MO
