Damon L. Jones:
Thank you, it’s great to be here. At my core, I’m a creator — someone who’s been chasing the art, the message, and the emotion behind music since day one. I started out as a rapper, singer, and songwriter back in the late ’80s with Shabazz Productions, then continued my journey with OnPoint Entertainment in the early ’90s. From there, I moved into voice acting, artist management, and content creation. Every hat I’ve worn has been rooted in creativity, purpose, and hustle.

Over three decades in the entertainment world is no small feat. What has kept you motivated through all those transitions?
Damon L. Jones:
Growth — and the hunger to keep evolving. The industry moves fast, but the love for storytelling and the connection that music creates never changes. What motivates me now is helping other creatives find their voice, their lane, and their purpose. It’s one thing to build your own path; it’s another to help others build theirs.
BLAZIN 420:
You’re also the founder of the clothing brand DLSEAN, which has been getting a lot of attention. What inspired that move into fashion?
Damon L. Jones:
DLSEAN came from my belief that style is identity. Fashion and music go hand-in-hand — both allow you to express who you are without saying a word. In 2020, when the world slowed down, I used that moment to create something bold, empowering, and original. The brand represents confidence, creativity, and the mindset of being unapologetically yourself.

As Podcast Director, what does your role look like behind the scenes, and what do you enjoy most about it?
Damon L. Jones:
My job is to shape the voice and vision of the show — from content development to guest strategy to overall production flow. But what I love most is the authenticity. The BLAZIN 420 Podcast is real conversations, real personalities, and real culture. We’re not chasing trends; we’re creating space for truth, energy, and connection. That’s the power of what we do.

Your background includes music, management, fashion, and now broadcast leadership. How do you balance all these creative avenues?
Damon L. Jones:
Purpose and organization. To me, all these lanes connect. Whether I’m directing a podcast, working with an artist, or designing a clothing line, it all goes back to inspiring people and pushing culture forward. When you’re passionate and intentional, everything finds its rhythm.

What advice would you give to upcoming artists or entrepreneurs trying to make their mark?
Damon L. Jones:
Stop waiting for permission — build your own lane.
The era I came from required grinding for every opportunity. Today, platforms like BLAZIN 420 exist to help amplify independent voices. Use that. Stay consistent, stay humble, invest in your growth, and trust your process. If you’re serious, the right opportunities will come.
